CICAVB serves as the strategic bridge between international planners and the destination, providing trusted guidance, local expertise, and seamless coordination, ensuring that every event not only meets global standards, but also creates lasting value for Cartagena.
A private, non profit organization and the accredited destination sales and marketing entity responsible for positioning Cartagena as a leading international MICE destination.
While private in nature, the Bureau operates within a strong institutional framework. Its Board of Directors includes permanent representation from key public and academic stakeholders, including the city’s Tourism Secretariat, the Tourism Corporation, the Chamber of Commerce, and the University of Cartagena, ensuring strategic alignment between the industry and public policy.
CICAVB acts as the central articulator of the local MICE ecosystem, connecting hotels, venues, DMCs, and service providers, while fostering collaboration with the public sector to enhance destination competitiveness.
In addition, the Bureau:
- —Leads the management of the Meetings Industry Cluster, driving coordination, innovation, and long term sector development.
- —Promotes the economic growth of both the territory and its business ecosystem through the attraction of high impact events.
- —Represents the meetings industry on the Board of the Cartagena Tourism Corporation, strengthening alignment across the destination.
- —Is an active member of the National Network of Convention Bureaux of Colombia, contributing to coordinated national positioning.

Responding to the demands of the North American market, in 2026 Meetings CTG North America will take place 100% in the Historic Center, aimed at corporate buyers from the US and Canada whose meetings have a capacity of 10-50 and 50-100 participants, with high demand for luxury hotels and boutique hotel buyouts.
